Exercise 1

Translation of the text and Transliteration (how to read):

(Sentence - 1)


تركب الأسرة السيّارة

Tarkabu Al-usrathu As-sayyaarah.

The family is riding the car.



(Sentence - 2)



تذهب الأسرة إلى السوق

Tazhabu Al-usrathu ilaa as-sooq.

The family is going to the market.



(Sentence - 3)


تقف السيّارة أمام الدكّان   

Taqifu as-sayyarathu amaama ad-dukkaan.
NoThe car has stopped in front of the shop.



(Sentence - 4)


 تدخل الأسرة الدكّان

Tadkhulu al-usrathu ad-dkkaan.

The family is entering the shop.



(Sentence - 5)

   
 هذا حصان و هذه زمّارة    

Haazaa Hisaanun wa haazihee Zammarathun.

This(masculine form) is a horse and this(feminine form) is a horn.



(Sentence - 6)


ذلك قطار و تلك عروسة .


Zaalika qithaar wa thilka Aroosah.


That(masculine) is a train, and that (feminine) is a doll.




(Sentence - 7)

   
 يشتري أحمد زمّارة و سيّارة 
      
Yashtharee Ahmad Zammarah wa Sayyarah

Ahmad is buying a horn and a car.




(Sentence - 8)



ًتشتري هدى حصانًا و عروسة 
  

Tashtaree Hudaa Hisaanan wa Aroosah


Huda is buying a horse and a doll.

Meaning: Seventeen


2) Arabic Text:ثمانية عشر

Read as: Samaniyatha Ashar(or Thamaniyatha Ashar)

Read as: Bunduqiyah

Meaning: Gun



2) Arabic Text:  دبّابة

Meaning: Tank

Meaning: Aeroplane



4) Arabic Text: صفّارة

Read as: Saf-fa-rah

Meaning: Whistle

Meaning: Guitar



6) Arabic Text:   مكعّبات

Read as: Muqa-a'-baath

Meaning: Cubes



7) Arabic Text:   لعب

Read as: Lu-ab

Meaning: Toys



8) Arabic Text:مُتحف 

Read as: Muth-haf

Meaning: Museum




9) Arabic Text: هذا تفّاح كثير 

Read as: Haazaa thuffaah katheer

Meaning: These are many apples.



10) Arabic Text: هذه مدينة الألعاب

Read as: Haazihee madeenath Lua'b.

Meaning: This is toys city. 




11) Arabic Text:يبني التلاميذ البيت 

Read as: Yabnee At-talaameezu al-baith.

Meaning: The students are building the house.

هذه لعبي أنا : بندقيّة ودبّابة و مكعّبات


Haazihee luabee anaa: 


Bunduqiyah, wa Dab-baa-bah wa

عندكم لعب كثيرة

Indakum Lua'b Kaseerah

You have a lot of toys


وهذه لعبي أنا: قيثارة و حصان و عروسة

Wa haazihee luabee anaa: 


Kaisaarah, wa Hisaan, wa 

Aroosah

And these are my toys: Guitar, 


and horse and doll.

وهذه لعب ندى : طائرة و دبّ و صفّارة

Wa haazihee luab Nadaa: 


Taairah, wa Dubb, wa Saf-fa-rah.


These are toys of Nadaa: Plane, 


and Bear and Whistle.



أنا أحبّ القيثارة

Anaa Uhibbu Al-Qaisaara

I Love the guitar



تعال لنغنّي

Taál nughanni

Come let us sing.


أنا أحب المكعًبات

Anaa Uhibbu al-mukaabaath

I love the cubes

Come to make a house.



هل تذهب معي إلى مدينة الألعاب؟

Hal Tazhab Maya ilaa Madeenah

Laa anaa sa-Azhabu ilaa al-

Read as: Hal Tazhab Mai-a' ilaa 

Madeenath  Al-a'ab.

Meaning: Are you going with me 


to the Games City.

Answer 1:

Read as:Laa, ana sa-Azhabu ila al-

muthhaf.

Meaning: No, I will be going to 

the Museum.

Arabic Text:

 هل تذهبين معي إلى الملعب؟

Read as: Hal tazhabeena máyea 

ilaa al-maláb?

(For feminine subject we use -

Tazhabeena -which means to Go )

Meaning: Are you going with me

 to the playground?

(addressed to a Feminine person)


Answer:

Arabic Text:.لا أنا ساذهب إلى المسبح

Read as:Laa Ana Sa-Azhabu ilaa

 Al-Mazbah.

Meaning: No I shall go to the

 swimming pool.


(Fill in the blank with sentences

similar to the above examples)









Question:3

Arabic Text: هل تذهب معي إلى الحديقة ؟

Read as: Hal tazhab máyea ilaa al-hadeeqah?


Meaning: Are you going with me to the garden?


Answer:


Arabic Text:.لا أنا ساذهب إلى البحر

Read as:Laa Ana Sa-Azhabu ilaa Al-Bahr.


Meaning: No I shall go to the sea (meaning to the beach).







Question:4

Arabic Text:


 هل تذهبين معي إلى الفصل ؟


Read as: Hal tazhabeena máyea ilaa al-Fasl?



Meaning: Are you going with me to the Class room?



Answer:



Arabic Text:.لا أنا ساذهب إلى المكتبة



Read as:Laa Ana Sa-Azhabu ilaa Al-Makthabah.



Meaning: No I shall go to the library.







Question:5



Arabic Text: هل تذهب معي إلى السوق ؟



Read as: Hal tazhabeena máyea ilaa al-sooq?



Meaning: Are you going with me to the market?

Exercise 5

The translation of the question is:
"Listen and understand- Enter the appropriate number in the box given:"



(This is an Oral Exercise.

The teacher may ask a

question at random about

one of the pictures and the

student is required to fill in

the appropriate number in the box.)

( This order of sentences can be taken as example and enter the number in the box of the described picture)


1) Description:Taariq is riding the horse.


Arabic:Taariq yarkabu al-Hisaana.



2) Description:The boys are playing with Alphabets.


Arabic: Yalabu al-awlaadu bil huroof.





3) Description:The family is in the clothes shop.


Arabic: Al-usrathu fee dukaan al-malaabis.






4)Description:The children are in the zoo.


Arabic: Al-awlaadu fee hadeeqatil haiwaan.





5) Description:The boys are riding the train.


Arabic: Yarkabu Al-awlaadu al-qitaar.





6) Description: Hudaa is buying the doll.

Arabic: Hudaa tashtaree Al-aroosah.




7) Description:The boys are buying the guitar.


Arabic: Al-Waladu yashtharee al-qeesaarah.





8) Description:The family is in the museum.


Arabic: Al-Usrathu Fil muthaf.

Listen and make out the difference between ( ت ) and ( ط ):
If the given word depends on the sound of ( ت )  then write ( ت ) in the given box.

If the given word depends on the sound of ( ط )  then write ( ط ) in the given box.

Meaning:This is a small train.

Read as:Al Usrathu fee madeenath aláab

Meaning: The family is in the games city.





Sentence 3: (Refers to  picture Number 4)

Read as:Yalábu Ahmadu bil mukaábaath.

Meaning: Ahmad is playing with the cubes.




Sentence 4: (Refers to  picture Number 3)

Read as:Taariqun Yashtaree al-dabbabah 


Meaning: Taariq is buying (a toy) tank.




Sentence 5: (Refers to  picture Number 6)

Arabic Text :

  أمل عندها لعبٌ كثيرةٌ

Read as: Amal indhahaa luábun kaseerathun.


Meaning: Amal has a lot of toys with her.



Sentence 6: (Refers to  picture Number 5)

Arabic Text : 

يركب الولد زَرافَة



Read as:Yarkabu Alwaladu zaraafah.


Meaning: The boy is riding the giraffe.
